The Art Colony: Ty Hodanish

One of the area’s most widely recognized artists, Ty paints in the great tradition of the New Hope school of Impressionist painters. Because he paints “Plein Air” (always outdoors), his canvases capture color and light in a fashion that has gained him a reputation as a master colorist.

Devoted to his art, Ty maintains a gallery and open studio at the Prallsville Mill in Stockton. The “Art Colony”, which he founded in 1998, allows him the opportunity to share his colorful technique with others in workshops he conducts in the fall and spring each year, attracting students from far and wide.
